Bb. Pilipinas ‘25 hopefuls answer questions from VP impeachment to plastic surgery | My Daily Collagen Presscon

The all-glammed-up official 36 contenders for Binibining Pilipinas 2025 recently faced the entertainment media at the Novotel Manila as part of a series of events organized by beauty and wellness brand My Daily Collagen.

They all introduced themselves by sharing stories about their careers, personal struggles, and causes, as required in every pageant.

Among the ladies that drew media attention were Mia Betina Golosino of Malabon, who disclosed her battles with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and Francesca Beatriz Abalajon of Aklan Province, a cervical cancer advocate.

Another contestant who stood out during the event was Katrina Anne Johnson of Davao Province, who finished first runner-up in the 59th edition of the country's longest-running national pageant.

Meanwhile, Jemille Rustia Zosa of Mandaluyong City, daughter of Marilou Rustia (who entered the pageant in 1995) and granddaughter of Benigna Rustia (Bb. Pilipinas 1968 second runner-up), expressed her will to win the title.

The candidates' Q&A with the media was part of the program, and they were able to express themselves more freely, except that fans were not in attendance.

During the Q&A session, one candidate was asked about her thoughts on Vice President Sara Duterte's impeachment, to which she enthusiastically responded: “There definitely has been a lot of incompetence in politics. What we have to understand as a society [is] that politics will have ups and downs. I come from a different culture, from Middle East, and we actually have a monarchy. This is new to me, seeing how the president, vice president, congress, and senate deal with their stuff. So, moving on from them [with] confidence, I believe that we need to have more discussions about it [in order] to understand everyone’s side. Hopefully, they resolve it as soon as possible.”

On the other hand, Alyssa Mildred Villariña from Rizal Province was asked to talk about women who undergo beauty improvements such as plastic surgery.

She said, “I believe that in today’s society, men and women openly discussing surgical enhancements on TikTok, if people have noticed. I’m not against them as long as they are making themselves more confident and they’re happy with their decisions.“

Inspiring women

Meanwhile, Anna Perez, CEO and president of My Daily Collagen, and Oliver Salas, chief sales officer, expressed their admiration for the candidates and Bb. Pilipinas group that promotes women from diverse backgrounds.

When asked to give a message to women who wish to achieve the level of success she has reached, Perez told ABS-CBN News, “For me to be here, I went through a lot. When I say a lot, it made me know myself more, and knowing yourself makes you a stronger person. When you know yourself, you will know what you want in life. When you know what you want in life, you will figure out ways on how to reach that. Kahit sa staff ko, sinasabi ko na, ‘Always find your purpose.’ When you know yourself, mas malapit ka na sa success mo.”

Perez also shared with ABS-CBN News that beauty should always stem from a sense of purpose, which includes treating people with respect.

“Siyempre sa kabuuan mo bilang tao — sa ritwal mo, sa paniniwala mo, at sa kung paano mo itrato ang mga tao. Kahit na anong mangyari, lagi mong alamin ‘yung purpose. Confident na ako sa sarili ko — maganda man or hindi perfect or may imperfections. You just have to know your purpose,” she emphasized.
